Fake condoms involve multiple well-known brands


Police Officer Zheng of Cangnan County Public Security Bureau, who was in charge of the case, told reporters that the case started with an ordinary case of manufacturing and selling fake outer packaging. In March this year, a public security team of the Cangnan County Public Security Bureau discovered that a man produced and sold fake outer packaging boxes in his jurisdiction. After an in-depth investigation, the police found that the outer packaging boxes of Lin Mou Express were unauthorized, illegally produced and sold counterfeit brand condom outer packaging boxes and instructions and other materials. The registered trademarks involved are well-known brands such as Durex, Okamoto, Sixth Sense, and Jiesbon.


Subsequently, the case-handling police found that the criminal gang had a large number of fake dens and concealed through investigation and analysis of the transaction data, and synthetic investigations. The number of fake condoms sold was huge and the radiation area was wide.


"Henan has six processing points and Hebei has two processing points. Most of these processing points are located in rural or suburban factories, and their locations are very hidden." Police officer Zheng said.


According to him, these dens do not directly produce condoms, but buy silicone oil from a factory in Dongguan, and buy cheap condoms from an Anhui company, and then compress and package them for sale.

"The products that are in direct contact with the human body have strict production regulations. They are usually completed in aseptic production workshops, but the common characteristics of these small workshops are the small space and poor sanitary conditions." Police officer Zheng said.


The counterfeiting workshop in Cangzhou, Hebei is remote, only one way in and out. When the police arrived, several workers were processing counterfeit condoms. In this black workshop, police seized more than ten kinds of fake Durex brand condoms, including vitality, passion, bumps, and boldness. After entering the keyword "condom" on the Alibaba website of the wholesale platform, there are more than 1,200 product links for condoms ranging from 0 to 5 yuan, most of which are Durex 12 packs, and many stores have shipped 20,000 boxes.


In an online shop called "Xi'an Hi-Tech District Yiqule Hygiene Products Distribution Department", 12 boxes of Durex ultra-thin packs cost only 4.5 yuan, and the transaction volume showed more than 2,000 boxes.


On September 27, the reporter purchased 20 boxes of 12 condoms of different series in this online store. Including Durex and Okamoto brands.


The manufacturing dates printed on the bottom of these 20 boxes of condoms are September 2018, and the expiration date and production lot number are also printed. From the appearance, it is almost no different from the real Durex and Okamoto condoms.


After careful observation, compared with condoms purchased from Durex flagship stores, these condoms have jagged edges in the aluminum film of the condoms. It is difficult to fully expand the condoms that are taken out after opening the package.


Manager Wang, the head of the shop, told reporters that without opening the packaging, the only difference between the product and the authentic product is the production batch number and production date at the bottom. "The authentic product is laser-coded, and we are printed."

According to Manager Wang, the condoms they produce have two brands of Durex and Okamoto. Among them, 12 series of Durex can be bought from him. When the sales volume is highest, more than 10,000 boxes can be sold every day.


Although the actual address of the store is in Xi'an, the appearance packaging and condoms are from other provinces. "Our boxes are imported from Wenzhou, and condoms are sent from Hebei and Henan.
