Composition of adhesive

Hits: 548 img

Adhesive is a kind of adhesive which can bond two objects together. According to different classification, there are different types of adhesives, adhesives are widely used, and now they are full of our life. Do you know how to make adhesives?

How the adhesive is composed:
Synthetic adhesive
Synthetic adhesive is composed of main agent and auxiliary agent, the main agent is also called main material, base material or adhesive material; auxiliary agent includes curing agent, diluent, plasticizer, filler, coupling agent, initiator, thickener, antioxidant, polymerization inhibitor, stabilizer, complexing agent, emulsifier, etc. according to the requirements and Application, it can also include flame retardant, foaming agent, defoamer, colorant and mildew inhibitor.

Main agent
The main agent is the main component of the adhesive, which dominates the adhesive properties and is also an important symbol to distinguish the adhesive types. The main agent is usually composed of one or two or even three kinds of polymers, which requires good adhesion and wettability. Materials that can be used as stickies include:

1. Natural polymers, such as starch, cellulose, tannin, gum arabic and sodium alginate, and animal adhesives such as bone glue, fish glue, blood protein glue, casein and shellac.

2. Synthetic resin can be divided into thermosetting resin and thermoplastic resin. Thermosetting properties such as epoxy, phenolic, unsaturated polyester, polyurethane, silicone, polyimide, bismaleimide, allyl resin, furan resin, amino resin, alkyd resin, etc; Thermoplastic resins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, acrylic resin, nylon, polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene, thermoplastic polyester, polyphenylene ether, fluororesin, polyphenylene sulfide, polysulfone, polyketones, polyphenyl ester, liquid crystal polymer, etc., and their modified resin or polymer alloy. It is a kind of adhesive with the largest amount.

3. Rubber and elastomer. Rubber mainly includes chloroprene rubber, nitrile ethylene propylene rubber, fluororubber, polyisobutylene, polysulfide rubber, natural rubber, chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, etc.; the elastomers are mainly thermoplastic elastomer and polyurethane elastomer.

4. In addition, there are inorganic binders, such as silicate, phosphate and phosphoric acid cupric oxide.

auxiliary

In order to meet the specific physical and chemical characteristics, the various auxiliary components are called additives. For example, in order to form a network or body structure of the main adhesive and increase the cohesive strength of the adhesive layer, curing agents are added (they react with the main binder and produce cross-linking effect); in order to accelerate the curing and reduce the reaction temperature, curing accelerator or catalyst is added; In order to improve the resistance to atmospheric aging, thermal aging, arc aging, ozone aging and other properties, add antioxidants; in order to give some specific properties of the adhesive and reduce the cost, add fillers; to reduce the rigidity of the adhesive layer and increase the toughness, add a toughening agent; in order to improve the processability, reduce the viscosity and prolong the service life, etc.

1. Curing agent; 2. Solvent; 3. Plasticizer; 4. Filler; 5. Toughening agent; 6. Coupling agent; 7. Other additives: initiator, promoter, tackifier, polymerization inhibitor, stabilizer, antioxidant, complexing agent, emulsifier.
